Use this Method When SSD Doesn’t Appear in BIOS

While accessing the BIOS menu on your computer, if you don’t see your SSD, customize the ‘onboard sata mode’ settings. You have to change this option to [AHCI] IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY. If this option is set to something else, your SSD will not appear inside the BIOS menu. Another thing that can cause your SSD to disappeared from the BIOS menu is the hardware connection. If the SSD isn’t connected to your computer correctly, then you won’t be able to view it inside the BIOS menu or as a storage device on your computer.

Disk management is a utility on Windows computers to let users manage connected storage devices. Your SSD should appear inside disk management. However, you might get worried if it doesn’t show up in the disk management utility. If this happens to you, you can follow the below steps to fix it:

  1. Switch off your computer and let it rest for a minute.
  2. Make sure to disconnect all connecting cables and power cord from the computer.
  3. Now disconnect all peripherals and devices from your computer.
  4. Open the CPU cabinet or laptop’s rear panel.
  5. Make sure to connect your SSD to SATA port 1.
  6. Connect the windows installation media drive to your computer. Make sure it is bootable.
  7. Once you connect the device, restart your computer and boot your computer with the USB bootable device.
  8. Navigate to the Windows installation and format the SSD.
  9. Now cancel the installation and check if it appears in the disk management window.

If you can still not view your SSD on your computer, get it checked on a service center. You can also check whether your SSD is ok or not by connecting it to a different computer.
